Iron-willed and unyielding, Rand is driven by despair and guilt, scarred emotionally and physically by a past he can't escape. Rand is the leader of the Resistance, a group whose goal is to stop Amara's hostile takeover of Eleysia and its surrounding countries.
His intensity has caused the displaced people of Eleysia to rally behind him, creating a group of supposed heretics and anti-Eleysian fighters hiding in the shadows of Amara's kingdom.
Despite his allegiance to this army, Rand has a hidden ambition he uses the group to fulfill. With this covert goal guiding him, Rand is willing to drive his comrades headlong into his own personal battles.[1]
